Following feedback from the Patient Participation Group and others, we are piloting different operating hours on askmyGP from November.
The aim is to give patients as much opportunity as possible to access on the day capacity.
Routinely AskMyGp should be available between 08.30 to 09.00am & then between 10:00 to 10:30 every morning if we are running at full capacity for GPs. The remaining capacity will be available from 10am if the initial 30 minutes does not consume it all. This will enable contact with a clinician for assessment of urgent problems. However, it can be switched off earlier if we reach that day’s limit for appointments. After that takes place, if your need is genuinely urgent then please phone the surgery instead. Do not leave it till later in the day to call however. PLEASE BE AWARE: All AskMyGp contacts will be reviewed on the day, but any action arising from your request will be arranged into either routine contacts or on the day depending on clinical need. Majority of contacts will remain by phone or AskMyGp replies.
